Episode 2: Mike Biggar's 2017 SUMMER ROAD REPORT for BluesandRootsRadio.com

Wow, summer is finally here in full form and I am happily headlong into festivals and shows all over the East Coast, and really excited to be capturing highlights and lots of fun with my SUMMER ROAD REPORT for Blues and Roots Radio! Hope you enjoy the video blog and following along with my tour travels! :-)

Last week was a full one for sure...starting with a cool, unique opportunity related to Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation with the 'Canada 150 Red Couch Tour' as it crosses the country stopping in locations all across Canada and people are invited to sit on the couch and chat about what Canada means to them. I was invited to

drop by for its Saint John NB stop and it was a load of fun and quite an honour to get to express a few thoughts of love and gratitude about our wonderful nation. Then I made a return to the lovely Shadow Lawn Inn restaurant in Rothesay NB for a relaxing evening patio show...one of the loveliest spots in our area. On Friday July 7th I played in Caribou Nova Scotia at the PEI Ferry Terminal for waiting passengers in the 'Music on Deck' series offered by Northumberland Ferries...a bit of a windy day by the sea but lots of friendly folks checked out the music. Then after a night off in picturesque Amherst Shore Nova Scotia it was off to the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island and the massive and always exciting Cavendish Beach Music Festival, one of the largest and most star-studded festivals on the East Coast. 2017 is my 7th year taking part in CBMF and I was delighted to be invited to host the ever-popular songwriters circle with some marvelous other artists - JJ Shiplett, Rylee Madison, Aaron Goodvin and Jessica

Mitchell. CBMF is always a barrel of fun and after all this time it's a homecoming of sorts for me. Then the band arrived and we ended the day with a rocking band slot on the Sirius XM Stage...just before main stage headliner Zac Brown Band cranked up the festival finale for the 30,000 or so folks who dropped by.

So all in all a mighty fun few days on the road and it keeps running down the line, with the Kempt Shore Acoustic Music Festival on deck for July 13-16...stay tuned!

REMIND ME...WHAT IS THIS BLOG THING AGAIN?

It features video, photos and a blog stream, which will all be showcased on the B&RR main website and linked on my blog. It will all wrap up with an Ontario tour in September, including a feature interview special in Toronto with B&RR co-founder Stevie Connor.
